Re: Kizashi is making a new noise...
Sounds as if you've got a good sense of where to look. Old Tech has stated numerous times that the belt tensioner is problematic. You can take off the belt and run the engine for a couple of seconds, if the sound goes away then you're down to water pump, alternator, A/C compressor, two idlers, and t...

Re: Parts
Welcome beccamac ! Forgot that yesterday. The link to MegaZip is a good source IF YOU NEED DEALER PARTS. Much of what is normally needed is available through aftermarket suppliers for one third the price. You said rear suspension parts, RockAuto has control arms, sway bar end links, shocks, etc. for...

Re: Cheap fix 17 muffler rust out
How does it sound if you eliminate those mufflers?
I had a Road Race catback on mine and loved the way it sounded, but it rusted out and I had to put the factory system back on. I miss that growl but don't want it to sound boy racer.

Re: I'm back
The problem was not entirely my old Windows 7 computer, it's a reaction to something wrong about this website. My new computer won't stay logged in, I have to log in each day when I come here, and there's a mention of it being unsafe on the login dialog.

I'm back
Hey all, haven't posted in six months or so because I couldn't login. Probably something to do with my desktop being Windows 7. SMH
Got a laptop for birthday/christmas and I can log in just fine here. I've been reading all along, just couldn't post.

Re: how to check if the chain is stretched? Do I need special tools to set the timing?
As usual, I'm going to give you my very experienced amateur opinion and then later today or tomorrow the guy who really knows this stuff will give you better advice. The chain is tensioned by oil pressure, the tensioner could be bad. Be sure that you have 10W-30 oil, synthetic is better at keeping t...

Re: Air/Fuel intake system cleaning
Always a good idea to put a bottle of Techron in the tank every 20,000 miles and to clean your MAF sensor and throttle body every 50,000 or so. Doing a cheap, do-it-yourself cleaning regularly can help avoid the need to pay for a more expensive professional cleaning down the road. I've always gotten...
