Not at all. You can have all doors locked or unlocked and still pop the trunk with the fob in your pocket.

Go into your glove box and you will see a trunk button on the upper right corner. that button disengages the trunk from the fob and button under the steering wheel

Lift the shift boot first while still on neutral.. than bring it to the right than down... while you are going down to put it into reverse, still give alil force right while still having the shift boot up... you will hear like a knuckle cracking sound to confirm your on reverse
