Howdy gang. Been forever since I've logged in here.
What's wrong with the OE rotors? I just replaced the original Akebono pads at @98k miles and there's nothing wrong with the original rotors. Why change them at all?

The answer to that question depends....have you been combing the eastern seaboard for #5?

Re: Wrapping up 2021 with the Kizashi
Nice pics and update all around. The Salton Sea story is quite interesting especially since reading this https://finance.yahoo.com/news/gm-heralded-plant-model-electric-162746562.html just before logging in here and going through this post of yours. Not looking to hi-jack your post, however, making ...

"ya know, pretty soon we're going to be 'the safest nation on the planet'...doing absolutely nothing" Quote from one of our shop's Master Electricians after a discussion/review of some over-the-top safety requirements we are being forced to implement on a job that are rather...circuitous, ...

Re: Suzuki Terminates Production of The Grand Vitara and Kizashi
Ronzuki, your experiences with your Samurai remind me a lot of my first vehicle: the Suzuki Sidekick JX. While it was rather austere and slow, it really just went anywhere anytime and had no major issues. It was the Suzuki experience that had me all about the Kizashi when I learned of it despite be...

Re: Front Passenger Seat Recall Round 2 (2021)
I don't have leather and have received this recall. MANY years ago I reported my car experiencing this problem to the dealer on multiple occasions with both my adult daughter and wife. Nothing came of it. The response of no problem found even w/ photo evidence in hand pissed me off so I filed a comp...

Re: Suzuki Terminates Production of The Grand Vitara and Kizashi
You don't think the Jimny is a bit small for the USDM, crash test performance aside? I'm hoping for something bigger than the Jimny but still small, simple, and powered by a 4 banger, but making more power than the Jimny's mill. Nope. All I'd need. And hopefully with a price tag that would lend tow...

Re: Suzuki Terminates Production of The Grand Vitara and Kizashi
I still hold hope that Suzuki and Toyota will collaborate on making a small true 4x4 SUV for the global market. Ditto. I miss my damn Samurai. Had I not modified it beyond being street legal, I'd still have it, except, the body rot at the tub's frame mounting points behind the seats would have caus...

Re: Important Safety Recall
They absolutely would charge for any additional parts not provided with a recall. I believe OldTech had fixed a customer's leaking fuel pump, here in the corrosion belt, after a botched recall tank fix' by the another shop that performed the recall work unsuccessfully. Nothing new about any of the s...
