I don't think they broke. They are very thin and I think removing the plug and refitting bent them. After refitting the plug and testing the lights and finding that the lights didn't work, I kept removing and refitting the plug thinking that maybe it wasn't on properly. By doing this I think the pins dislodged themselves as they aren't soldered in, they seem to be pushed in. So after the lights weren't working and bits of the of the original pins fell outfox the housing, I had feared the worst thinking that the assembly had snapped somewhere.
It's the pictures on this thread that led me in the right direction and had me trialling some new pins.

The lesson here for anyone is basically , BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING AND REFITTING the ights plugs on the back of the headlight assembly if you are changing bulbs. A simple job could end in tears.
Changing bulbs is a standard DIY procedure and is briefly outlined in the manual. The issue is the hardware is quite fragile and considering it is a part that may require frequent unplug/ plug cycles should be made more robust .

Anyways, all good now thanks to help from this forum !

Glad you got this sorted and that it was a little less complicated than it initially seemed. 8-)

What did you use to replace them? In case anyone else runs into the same issue

Are you ready for this.... Lol

I used the wire from a remote control car aerial.
Nice and strong and right diameter to lodge into the pin holes without any force or damage to the connector.

Best bet is also to remove the white plastic guide plate that sits inside the headlight plug housing. A pair of pliers and gentle force it can be removed safely.
I placed the new pins into the loom plug. Then placed the white plastic guide plate over the loom plug assembly and then gently pushed the whole thing back into the headlight assembly.
Needed 2 attempts at this as the 1st attemp the pins did not connect into their respective holes in the headlight which meant no lo beam or indicator.

2nd gentle attempt they pushed in correctly and all is now working.
