Thanks again for your replies, how it was explained to me was with the Suzuki remote hidden in the dash, anyone could walk up to the car at anytime and hit the unlock button on the drivers side door and the car door would unlock b/c the remote was within range of the proximity sensor and be able to be started and driven away. Not saying this is the case, just what I was told.

Part of the deal when I bought my car was that they had to provide me with an extra key for the command start, but that was only b/c they told me the key is what had the chip in it or whatever. I guess I will be going back and demanding that they give me an extra fob instead.

again this is not true they dont know what they are talking about i would go elsewhere if i was you i had to buy the extra key its cheap 70 compared to the jetta 250 i think i cant believe they would tell you that[are you sure you not trying to make a logical guess well it dont work that way at all] if you plan on being in nyc i would take you to place i got mine done or even the dealer but they charge more

Umm I dunno about you guys but if I have my key in my pocket and my wife leaves her key in er purse in the car, the car WILL NOT lock with the other key inside. Plus if the key was inside the buttons on the door would not work because the signal has a certain area radius that it looks for. That's why the key can't be on one side of car and press button on other side. Don't work.

So according to my understanding you couldn't leave a FOB inside the car and lock it anyways.

The wonders of electronics right the logical explanation wont work in this situation the chip completing the circuit and how its done is the key factor here i cant explain it fully or else i would be in business installing these things but it works regardless what anyone says in otherwards if i get into my car without the keyfob and press the button the car would not start its gonna say keyfob not detected even though a key is buried away in there so forget the logic im living proof it can be done

ok me demostrating remort start on kizashi sorry i was doing it by myself on phone so it aint pretty just wanted you guys to see then i showed car started doors cannot be opened then showed even with key buried in dash without the key fob car will not start also showed car stop running once door is unlocked and opened.. automatic door lock and unlocked and a little peak at the navi sorry icouldnt get one long clip phone wouldnt allow so the logical questions i cant answer but the remote start works fine just like a car without push start and the green truck has remote start with a key they both work the same only difference is the cut off on truck is brake on kizashi is opening of the door.i hope the naysayers have enough proof technology is amazing isnt it the sweet part is the extra feature auto locks so go head guys get your remote start the remote also tells you when the car is running and countdown on time its running so if your only want 5 mins you just stop it or it stops its self...now the keyless entry still works with factory remote but not when car is remotely started...
..ok moderator i double posted gimme a break just trying to let the guys see this if i coulda done better i would have

Wow, thanks for posting these, the videos have addressed all my concerns! I am going to load these onto my phone so I can show the dealership proof of your setup. Thanks so much for taking the time to help another Kizashi member out, really appreciate it!

no problem at all im not sure you want that dealer messing with your car lol if they dont know like i said the dealer here also does it but at a price...they offer to do it even before the car is delivered...i said no way i already had my guy in place cause i love remote start actually it was part of my research before buying the car whether it could be done and for me it was a deal breaker so at day 2 of ownership i had remote start and that was in march... i forgot to demo that the buttons for locking/unlocking doors still work manually as one poster mentioned but everything still works the same and yes you still cant lock yourself out of this car with the key inside.i like how someone made the video on the page i couldnt figure that out wow...wish they would do the rest

haha, well I guess I should clarify. I mean I will take these videos in to show them that it can be done, but I have no intention of letting them do the installation. I just want them to give me the extra key fob I will need for free, like they were supposed too.

I will go and talk to my installer tomorrow and see if we can get it figured out. Roughly how much should it cost for labour to install a remote starter in the Kizashi?

well i paid 200 but this is my guy dealer was asking 800 ..also you only supposed to get 2 keys when you buy the car i bought the extra one because i wanted the extra key..also you only need a key not the remote and it has to be programmed with your other keys before installation or it wouldnt work because you would have a key buried with a different code ..inside the remote there is a key with a chip that could probably explain why everything still works
