Key fob dead battery

Since I was replacing the battery in my key fob anyway, I thought I run a little test. I wanted to see if the car would start with no battery in the fob. The verdict: It will. How cool is that? Step on the brake and press the start button and the display will tell you to hold the fob against the start button. As soon as the fob is against the button, the car will turn over and start. So here we have another well thought out feature engineered into the biggest bang for the buck sports sedan in the world. Happy driving! :drive:

Probably can't get into the car from outside without using the physical key though. The car also won't be able to detect the fob without the battery and make you susceptible of being locked out if the key is left inside the cabin or trunk.

Regardless, nice to know the car can detect the fob to start the engine even with no battery in it.
