Center Dash Information Display Dimming

Noticed my center dash display noticeably dimmer than normal on my home from work today. The speedometer and rpm gauges were fine. Playing with the brightness knob didn't help. When I got home I parked and turned off the engine. Started it up again and it was fine. Strange. Anyone experience the same?

When its really hot outside (and inside the car), sometimes I get a vertical "static" on that display. It goes away the next time I restart the car, so I haven't worried about it.
If it happens more consistently, I would recommend having it looked at especially if you are still under warranty

I've actually noticed this happening when I start the car with the door open. I've been able to repeat it, so I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the door ajar/indoor lights being on while attempting to start.
