I'm gonna be looking for a car maintenance logging app, something I probably should have done ages ago.

Anyone around here have any good suggestions?

I saw that the Amsoil website had a free one. It looked kinda basic though.

Paper and Pen? I have a spread sheet form printed and I just write down what I did, when, how many miles and what I used. Columns: DATE, MILEAGE, SERVICE, WHERE, PARTS used and COST. Handed my rather large stack of sheets over from the Samurai to the new owner when I sold it recently.

That's interesting. I never thought about tracking the cost of stuff too. I've tried to keep the receipts for that the stuff that I've done to my cars. But it's kind of a jumbled mess.

Barbarian!

I've got a little book I keep in the car, log every fillup and scribble a little note along the edge for oil x, tire x, tires, brakes, etc.

Yeah I know, the horrors. The infamous paper and pen has worked flawlessly for me over decades. No OS upgrades to make it obsolete, cease functioning or disappear into the cloud(s). And it really is that easy to transfer the info to a new owner. Just hand it to them.

I keep track of my maintenance on an excel file (technically google sheets) along with scheduled intervals and other misc info (part #s, torque specs, etc).
It is a bit low-tech, but it has worked well for me.

HAHAHA! Long live this old-school tech!

I have a separate category in our accounting system for any expenses and scan all the receipts so we have them if we need them.
