If U Cannot Shift CVT Gearshift Lever Out Of Park
On page 3-19 of the Owner's manual for my 2011 Kizzie, there are instructions for doing what I hope I never have to do, which is getting CVT out of Park when "electrically operated park-lock feature" doesn't work. The manual says to remove the cover over the button: BUT IT DOESN'T SAY HOW. There's a notch that looks like it's meant for the tip of a flat screwdriver. Maybe one is to wrap that driver tip in a cloth, as for removing a dome light lens as on page 7-44, then pry the cover off? Has anyone dared to try removing this "button cover"? I'm reluctant to try it for fear of scratching or breaking it. Dealer's Service Dept. hasn't answered my query.

This is the park-lock aka shift-lock override. All automatics feature this. Under the tiny cover is a button that can be depressed, usually with the screw driver or pen. While depressed, the shifter can be shifted into any gear even without the car key. The main reason this exists is so that the car can be shifted into Neutral for the purpose of towing.
This is the main reason tow truck drivers get into your vehicle to tow it say if you park illegally. They are using the override to shift it into Neutral and release your e-brake. They then can maneuver the car without resistance.
You can remove the cover with a screw driver and cover it with a cloth to prevent scratches.
Like I said, this override is mainly for towing, not some crazy emergency.

Finally got a "warm" enough day to try removing the little cover on the button. Just as KuroNekko advised, a screwdriver tip with a thin wrap did the trick. I could see where I'd push the button with screwdriver or key, if it were an emergency. (It wasn't an
emergency, I just wanted to be prepared.)
I did try WIKizashi's suggestion to use the car key, but it was too big to fit the notch in the cover.
I agree heartily with tc about avoiding trouble in the first place!
