I have bought my Kizashi in Richmond Suzuki too, they also give me lifetime oil change, and they have a servicing schedule.
It's all good. Some people make worse mistakes... like NASA and burn up $125 million satellites.~tc~ wrote:My bad, totally blow right past the "k"s!

That may not be the case for U.S. spec vehicles...there are differences in those maint. guides. Wouldn't surprise me though if it were 18k miles. With all of the additional tasks placed on the braking system w/ ESP and VSP utilizing the complex ABS parts, cheaper to ensure there's no moisture in the system versus replacing one of those units. Moisture is a hydraulic system's number one enemy.

New transmission was installed.
Drove the car very little today. So far everything seems A-OK. Car drives differently though. A good different. The car feels quite a bit more responsive.
Funny thing. This new transmission engages reverse gear in a SPLIT second. Faster than most automatics actually. Where my original unit took around 4 seconds to engage.
Looks like my original unit was crap from the get go. Cheers.

4 seconds to engage reverse and you never took that POS back?
Automatics should not even take longer than one whole second to engage reverse.
Glad to hear your Kizashi is back and running well. Let's hope it stays that way.

Honestly, the single most important bit of info needed from this thread.bootymac wrote:Glad things worked out. Any word on the cause?
What was the stuff in the trans fluid?
Any guarantees, from anyone, that the same thing won't happen to the new trans?
