Hmmm. My 2013 SE AWD has them included as standard equipment. I just double checked the window sticker to be sure it wasn't an option. A little bit of online hunting seems to indicate that the heated side mirrors came standard on the AWD models. Not sure if that is correct, but it seems plausible.DesRado wrote:SLS only I'm guessing unless it's an option. My GTS does not have them.
What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?
That would make sense, why add the extra cost if the person will likely not be in a cold climate. Otherwise they'd assume those that need winter mode will get the AWD model.bdleonard wrote:Hmmm. I also did some research. Basically, heated mirrors are bundled with AWD, regardless of trim level. Everything from the S to the SLS has them if you have AWD. The only FWD with heated mirrors is the SLS.

Nice! The heated mirrors mystery is solved.
Got some Royal Purple oil for an oil change as I couldn't find the Amsoil I wanted. Heading into the trenches to do the work once I see some pictures on here on how to replace the fogs without dropping the bumper.

You might as well drop the bumper so you can fix your driver's side low beam. The fogs can be accessed by removing the splash shield directly connected to the bumper, but with all the bolts and screws, you might as well remove the bumper to get everything fixed at once. It's really not as hard as people think it is.SamirD wrote:Nice! The heated mirrors mystery is solved.![]()

Agreed with Kuro, but all you need to do to access the fogs is take off that splash shield under the bumper (10 or so screws). The fogs are simple to change. Just locate the fog housing from the inside and turn the bulb to extract it like a regular headlight. Pull it out and swap bulbs.

Also, if you try to use brute force when they're frozen to the windshield to unstick them, you can peel the rubber strip that touches the windshield from the rubber part that attaches to the main wiper blade housing. You end up with a loop in your wiper blade rubber when you lift it up, and the wiper is essentially useless at that point.KuroNekko wrote:Having [the wipers] propped up prevents them from getting stuck or even collecting much ice at all. I personally do this too.

I saw all those screws and was on a very tight time schedule so I dropped the idea of changing the fogs.KuroNekko wrote:You might as well drop the bumper so you can fix your driver's side low beam. The next big job will be to drop the bumper and correct all the lighting. Shouldn't be too bad now that I have a piece of cardboard large enough to put the bumper on while it's off the car.

I shined a flashlight in one of the holes while under the car and the change definitely looks dead simple once I have access to the bulb area. But with all the screws and the time crunch I was under yesterday, I'll just have to do it when I take the whole bumper off.DesRado wrote:Agreed with Kuro, but all you need to do to access the fogs is take off that splash shield under the bumper (10 or so screws). On the list for today is to double-check the oil level and attempt to relearn the tpms again.
