Fitting crosshatch / mesh style grille in lower models?

I found a post a few days back that asked the same question, but I was wondering if anyone had actually tried it yet?

I've got the lower spec model with the horizontal line type lower centre grille, I noticed the top of the range "Sports AWD" (in Australia at least) has the different lower grille that matches the upper grille. So does anyone know if I bought the "Sports" lower grille if it would fit?

I have asked and they don't know if it will fit. Price is $375 locally, cheaper in the USA (but I haven't got a price with freight....)

I believe this is the same lower grille for the lower trim model (not sports) hence lower price. The material used for the "sports" lower grille is made of chrome (black).

Yes, the price on those websites is incorrect and it's actually the listing for the "el cheapo" lower grille that I've already got. From memory the correct price was US $275 plus freight? (I Emailed one of the online parts sites and they verified the correct price and my suspicions of the listing being wrong. :( )

Yes, that's who I contacted. It's the wrong part listing for the model and not the crosshatch style lower grille for $30.92.

Their response was : The part number for the SLS mesh grille is part number 71721-57L10-ZNE and it is $239.74

Better than my memory price of $275, but still not cheap. :)

I'd like to kick this post off again, having just bought a 2013 Prestige. I really would love to get the lower mesh grille fitted if I can...such a good look!
Dealers and service guys know nothing it seems, so is it possible to get an exact measurement (in millimetres) of the lower grille from an AWD, (top & bottom lengths & height etc, to compare with the slatted one on the non AWD??
There has to be some way we can find out once and for all...
