Ok...I have a VERY weird question. I just went out to my garage for a soda (not a beer, but maybe it should have been) & I noticed a sound coming from my car. Sounded like a humming or buzzing sound. I walked around the car and decided the sound was coming from the rear end. I opened the trunk, I could still hear it, but it wasn't coming from there. I think it was coming from under the car...but I have NO IDEA where. So...I started the car and it stopped...

Does anyone have any thoughts on what this could be?? I have a 2013 Kizashi SLS.

I got a reply in another forum...I found this very interesting:

"the evap. emissions system does a self test aprox 5 hrs after the car is shut off.
it will run a leak detection pump which is located pretty much right under the trunk near the wheel well.."

Found this is in the Owners Manual too:

LEAK DETECTION PUMP
NOTE:
Your vehicle has a pump to regularly check the vehicle’s evaporative emission control
system for leaks. This check is performed approximately five hours after the engine is
turned off. During this leak check, you may hear a sound coming from the vehicle for
several minutes. This sound is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.

Was going to say I thought it was emissions stuff but I didn't remember if that was this car or one of mine.

I think this sound has been brought up before.

It's a funny coincidence - I heard this today when I had the hood open to add washer fluid. And I believe it was 5 hours after last shut-off.

Yes it was discussed before cause I was freaking out when I heard mine back in April.
