Kizashi FTW

I owned a 2008 SX-4 AWD a few years ago. I wrecked the SX-4, and it was never right afterwards. I traded it in for a Kia Rio for my wife (she loves sub-compacts...girls, go figure). I bought a 2012 Ram 1500 for myself. I consider it temporary insanity. The value of the truck plummeted (along with my pocketbook for gas), so I started looking around town for deals. My local Suzuki dealer (40 miles away) was having a fire sale. I picked up a demo 2011 Kizashi SE on an even trade. The dealer sold it to me as a new car (warranty, etc.). Some people thought I made a bad deal, but the Ram plummeted $10K in one year, so breaking even was nothing short of a miracle. Suzuki doesn't have much of a name where I live. I think I have the only Kizashi in town (pop 50,000+). The poor fools, lol. This car is amazing. It feels like a luxury car in a smaller package. The ride is very smooth. The steering is top notch. I haven't had this much fun driving a car in years. Its a damn shame Suzuki is leaving the US. This car could have catapulted them to the mainstream. I knew there had to be a cult following out there. I'm glad I found this forum. :D

Congrats and welcome...it is a great car for sure. There are going to be some issues, no doubt, but I dare you to find a car that doesn't have some issues!

Welcome.

The car was a good choice. It's a bit of a risk given that Suzuki left the US, but the car itself is pretty solid and most owners here would agree.

The Ram 1500 is a nice truck, but I can't imagine owning something like that unless I was a contractor or farmer and needed to tow/haul stuff. Having driven mostly sedans and coupes, I value handling so much over other aspects that a truck would excel at.

In the long run, the Kizashi is a much better choice, despite what others may think. Both cars are subject to huge depreciation, but the Kizashi is a better long term investment given its lower cost of ownership and better reliability.
Glad to hear you enjoy the car.
