License plate tab renew cost

Here in the land of 10,000 lakes (MN), MN-DMV charges my 2011 SE approx. $250 to renew the tab they said the Base price of the car is $22,xxx thus the tab cost is based on the Base price, i suppose. I wonder how much others pay in their states? Which state would have the lowest cost? (i am thinking ND since the state floating on the oil's cash, correct me if i am wrong)

I'm right where you are in NC - $250ish. And I have to get it inspected which could run another $50 depending on where you go. They will find a way to get more money, one way or another.

Ours are 75 for a passenger car

Ohio is $35. The states get their money one way or another, plates might be cheap but they tax us for something you probably don't have to pay.

Exactly - some states (like yours) have personal property tax built into the registration fees, and some (like OH) don't.

TX has no state income tax, so I don't mind paying a little more for car registration.

i am glad I don't like the their service dept. I think they are not honest. For service, i drive all the way to White Bear Lake

and I thought Ontario Canada was bad. We pay $82 per year for plate sticker renewal. No annual inspection needed for new cars.
