Kizashi Club

I've noticed, at least on my SX4 and now my Kizashi, that Suzuki does not identify the trim level anywhere on the car. At least not that I can see. Is there anyway to identify the trim level other than by the VIN?

I am honestly not sure...I think you can pretty easily identify the trim by the way the car is set up. For example...if it has 18" wheels and the sport trim it is either an SLS or GT, then from there, does it have leather, sunroof, etc...

Are you questioning what you have?

At some point they made the 18" wheels standard or at least an option on the SE. So the SE and GTS have the same 18" style wheels. The SLS has different 18" wheels for quick identification. The body on all the model years look the same except they added the "sport" body changes to the GTS and SLS for 2011 and on which are pretty subtle except for the front fascia. I think the 10mm lowering of the GTS and SLS is subtle enough that you can't really tell by that. So to those in the know, we can tell the different trim levels. But the average Joe on the street only sees a Kizashi. No big deal, just thought it weird.

The average Joe has trouble figuring out it's a Suzuki, let alone Kizashi or trim level.

Im glad suzuki doesn't show trim level, too much info on cars as is. The gts and sls I believe have a chrome strip at the bottom door panel. People wouldn't notice any difference anyways, it is like this with most models of car. I think the kizashi is a nice car in any trim.

My 2013 SE has the chrome strip. Since that is an assessory that Suzuki sells it might just be that some dealers choose to put it on some or all of their vehicles. I think the easiest way to tell the S/SE from SLS/GTS is that S/SE doesn't have the fog lights.

While I'm not a debadger, I think the decision to not add any more was a good thing. On the other hand, Suzuki really blurs the line on trim packages, especially with the 2010 models and the SE, GTS and SLS looking exactly the same on the outside save for the foglights on the top two models. Even the the interior makes it tough to tell what trim you have depending on year. If you have a full leather interior and sunroof you can be reasonably sure you have an SLS...except for 2013 where these things were available in the SE/GTS. The 2013 GTS even has heated seats leaving me to believe that auto headlights and possibly the nav-stereo are the only extras you get with the top model??

Actually, the GTS and SLS share the same 18 inch wheels. The SE may be had with the 18's but they are different wheels. They are the non Sport 18's that the 2010 GTS and SLS used to have. The Sport GTS and Sport SLS (introduced for 2011 and up) have the Sport 18's which are actually lighter in weight than the previous 18s.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but..
The top sport wheel is on all GTS/SLS models from 2011-2013, and the bottom standard wheel was on all SE/GTS/SLS models in 2010, SE's only from 2011-2012 and then for some reason Suzuki went to the standard 17" wheel for the SE in 2013.

A lot of confusing mixing and matching going on for 3 1/2 model years..
