CVT 0-60 not accurate?

I have read many reviews for the kiz and most seem to put the 0-60 time at 9.4 secs. I feel this is not accurate. I'm not really motivated enough to time it myself but coming from a legacy (8.7 in 0-60) my. car feels noticeably quicker*. My disclaimer with it is as long as it is driven properly. The car does best with a light press on the pedal and leaving it there as it accelerates on its own. If I don't do that it lags and feels very slow. I read one review were the guy claimed the kizashi did 0-60 in 8.5, which seems more accurate. I thought I read on some Suzuki website it claimed 8.8. Wanted to know anyone else's experience with CVT/awd model?

What does the time matter - as long as you're happy?

Mine's a full-pedal dog, and light-feather rocket!

Race me from a 50mph start?......

+1 :D

I'm not sure if the car/CVT has gotten better with age, or me getting use to driving a CVT, I'm very happy with the way the car accelerates and handles (torque-wise) itself around corners.
I can't remember the last time I was annoyed by the cvt drone, or felt the car lagging during acceleration.

'Drive it like a rubber-band' is probably my best description.
I find it's a play & balance between pressing down and easing off the gas pedal.
Give it gas, and then ease off as it accelerates, and give it more.... etc.

It doesn't. I brought it up for discussion and my curiosity. Not to mention I got into a debate about it with a legacy owner who kept citing the 9.4 and saying it is dog slow. Of course he won't drive my car to see my point ;) .

For what its worth?
Motor Trend: Kizashi CVT 8.5 Subaru Legacy 8.68
Consumer Reports 9.3
The cars tested with the Kizashi all had 0 to 60 times .5 seconds slower than tested elsewhere.
CR test cars are always slow.

Mine (a manual) certainly feels quicker now I've done over 6000km (or perhaps I've just grown used to it being slow? :) )

No from all indications the manual version is quick. Car and driver has it going 0-60 in 7.1 secs. I'm okay with the performance. The only thing I don't like is if a don't press the pedal just right it lags and feels like it is stuck in mud.

I also think the manual is faster. I have never driven the CVT, but I have read reviews on the Kizashi in which the writer drove both and one even said the manual "feels like it has 50 more horsepower" than the CVT. That's huge.
I think the 0 to 60 times are also significantly faster for the man trans not to mention it also technically has 5 more horsepower than the CVT model.

I don't consider my manual Kizashi slow. It's not as fast in acceleration as the Mazda3 I had, but this car is heavier and more refined. I take off in traffic just fine and the only time it feels sluggish is accelerating from 5th or 6th gear on the freeway, especially if revs are too low (which is really with any car that is normally aspirated).

Basically the plus side to a manual Kizashi is the faster acceleration.
The plus side to the CVT model is the availability of the AWD which apparently is quite awesome.

I guess asking for a manual transmission plus AWD was too much to ask from Suzuki although Subaru would be knocking on the door.

I could certainly do with the AWD in the wet weather, it's way too easy to get wheel spin off the line (without trying.)
