And I drove my Kizashi down to the Oregon Coast! Still a while to go before we get to Crater Lake though

Oregon is a lovely state to drive in. I drove from Southern California to Crater Lake, OR shortly before moving to the East Coast. Did that in my Impreza and would love to do it again in my Kizashi.

Also, did you get the OE accessory fog lights on your S? You may have posted about it before but I've forgotten.
Fog lights are standard here in Canada!

The Kizashi is handling the 101 wonderfully. Suspension is tight enough to take on the curves but also soft enough to comfortably absorb bumps without upsetting the handling. It's also decent on gas too; I calculated 29.2 mpg so far.

My only complaint is that the reflection of the dash the windshield is so bad that it's actually impairing my vision at times. The large A pillars are also annoyingly blinding when on twisty roads

What did you think of Crater Lake?

You should really get some polarized sunglasses. They pretty much eliminate all glare from the windshield. You can both see right through the glare on your own windshield as well as other people's. This way, you can see the people in their cars much better which I think is safer.

I agree that the Kizashi's A pillars are massive. They are even bigger for me because I have the window visors. I just move my head around like a pigeon looking for crumbs. But hey, the Kizashi has stellar safety and its A pillars remain rigid when other competitors buckle in similar crash tests.

We didn't get too close to the actual lake. We pretty much drove around it through the woods and along the Oregon coastline. The photos you're uploading look quite familiar.

Enjoy your time there.

THANK YOU! I forgot about polarized sunglasses. I picked up a cheap pair at a small town Walmart (ew, never again) and wow, what a difference! The reflection/glare is significantly reduced and isn't noticeable anymore.

I replaced the car battery today. Over the weekend, the car died at a gas station from just running the radio and fan for my passengers while pumping gas. I knew my OE battery was getting weak for over a while, but it failing to start the car was the point I knew I no longer could postpone replacing it. The car has roughly 38,500 miles on it.

As noticed by others before with dying batteries, the car does give off a misleading symptom. The car didn't even try to crank and a few warning indicators came on including one for servicing the starting system or something to that effect. I got a jump from the gas station mechanic and it was fine again, especially after freeway driving. Nonetheless, I bought an Interstate battery at Costco (it's Interstate battery #27) and installed it this morning. Not only did it cure the starting issue obviously, but it also helped with some other weak battery symptoms I've noticed over the last several months. One involved my HIDs flickering very lightly at low speeds and especially at idle. However, they were fine when the engine was under load (with the alternator generating more power). This made me think the battery was at fault, not the HID components. I still contacted TRS about it months ago and they also believed it was the battery and not their kit. We discussed the possibility of using the in-line capacitors I had from my LED kit, but I ended up not trying them. Tonight, with the new battery installed, I had the HID kit on at idle with the A/C running with absolutely no flickering which indicates to me that the old battery was indeed weak and retaining below optimal voltage.

I hope my new Interstate battery lasts a long time like the one I had in the Impreza. It lasted over 10 years/100,000 miles. I'm quite confident it will be a superior battery to the OE Delkor battery.

Awesome. I'm actually in the market for getting a new pair of polarized sunglasses as my old ones are too small and hurt my head after a while. I truly think polarized sunglasses are the way to go for driving given the significant reduction in glare. I find that high quality ones almost entirely eliminate glare and let you see clearly through reflective surfaces like windshields and water.

I'll have to keep an eye out for those battery symptoms. Seems like the Kizashi's battery is a bit undersized. Are there any specs on the OEM battery like CCA and Ah or reserve capacity?
