Yeah, I found those $200 225/45R18's on SimpleTire.com yesterday. Sorry, I meant that the cheapest 245/45R18's I could find were $225 on eBay. The other half dozen-ish places that I found selling that size of WRG3's online were around $253+. I'm not good at haggling, but I'm going to give it a shot when I call Discount Tire sometime today.

Dont be afraid to negotiate. You'll be surprised, sometimes they're willing to work wirh you to get the sale done. Try asking them to give you credit for your used tires to put towards the new ones.

Hey yoshi, are you planning on running your WRG3's year-round? Or are you gonna have a second set of tires for the summer? Discount tire guy made it sound like they'd only last about 2 years if I ran with them on all year, which is kind of what I was intending to do.

All year round. It Comes with 55,000 mile warranty from Nokian and its rated UTQG 500 A A. Pretty damn good for a tire supposedly to last only 2 years. Are they trying to sell you on Kumho or Falken tires instead?

Could he mean the tread will wear down to the point where they're useless in snow? (But they'll still be roadworthy going by the treadwear indicators?)

I can't imagine someone burning through tires like that. If you drive 20k miles per year or more then I don't think any tire would last longer than 2 years. I plan on keeping these Nokian on for minimum 3-4 years and at that point hopefully the WRG4's would be available.

Discount Tires Guy kept mentioning Blizzak's when I talked to him because they have them in stock, and it's supposed to snow here in KC sometime this Saturday. He said that they probably won't be able to ship in the WRG3's until Monday. I'm pretty sure that he was just doesn't know anything about the Nokians, and he was just generalizing that all winter tires get eaten up if you drive them in the summer because winter tires are usually a softer compound.

While I do tend to abuse my tires, sometime here in the next year I should be replacing my Kia (hopefully with a manual Kizashi). At that point my AWD Kizashi would only get driven by my wife to and from work predominately, so that would extend the life of the WRG3's some.

Blizzaks are great winter tires but you'll basically have to buy summer tires in the spring time. Blizzakscant be driven all year. WRG3's can. How much did they quote you for the WRG3's?

$206 per tire. Thanks for posting the info about the UTQG rating. That was a pretty big eye opener that the Discount Tires guy probably doesn't know anything about the WRG3's. I'm sure he knows all kinds of stuff about the tires they usually have in stock, but I get the feeling that he doesn't know a lot about Nokian tires.

I didn't think to ask about recycling my old tires when I called him. I have the OEM Dunlops installed right now and they're almost bald, so I don't think I'm going to be able to get much for them. Anyways, I'm going to put in the order for the Nokians tomorrow.

Thanks for doin' all this research, yoshi. I really appreciate all the help you and the other guys on the forum have been.

Great job. It was no problem at all. I had to do hours upon hours of research on tires especially having to drive my 3 yr old daughter inthecarcohelp want to make sure I have the best equipment for my Kizashi. I believe the WRG3's are safest and very innovative tires especially with the 55k mile warranty. I'll stack these Nokian against any Michelin tires and I'll feel very confident about that. Glad I could help.
