The thread starter in that VWVortex thread is now a member here with that Kizashi.

I did...in 2001 when I joined Vortex. 2001 Golf GLS 1.8t. Since then I've been through about 10 different cars. I current have a 12 Honda Pilot and will be replacing an 04 Accord for the Kizashi. Look forward to posting here!

Welcome! I'm from the Vortex as well since I have a Mk4 GTI. Did you mod your 1.8T?

Not too much, I did a performance chip, Upsolute IIRC, larger brakes, beefer clutch and lighter flywheel. But that was going back 12 years. My next VW will be the current gen Golf/GTI. It's an amazing car, but the Kizashi will fill in until I'm ready. I'll wait for it to be in production a couple of years.

Wow, that's pretty awesome to see so much support from another site. Just reinforces how dumb Suzuki was for pulling out of the North American market instead of putting up the dough to actually market their products like they were trying to sell something. I'm not a fan of the practice of marketing as I feel it sole purpose is to figure out how to manipulate people to get them to buy something. But I can't deny that it works quite well.

Ironic that one reason Kizashies are drawing so much attention now is because Suzuki pulled out of the North American market, which resulted in the price drop that makes them so appealing now.

One of my coworkers said he's seen Suzuki leave and come back to the states a couple times in his lifetime. Hopefully they're not gone for good.
