I must've done it wrong then. How did your pair your phone? I paired mine as an audio device first, then as a phone. Once I connected it as a phone, I couldn't stream music anymore.

I can stream music via the Bluetooth and take phone calls too with my Android phone. When you set it up you choose both audio and phone. It gets better, if I'm using my phone to lets say watch video on YouTube (while I'm parked of course), the audio gets picked up by the Bluetooth and comes thru the car speakers, also if I'm using the phone navigation, I too hear the turn by turn directions via the car speakers...

As for the milage you get per tank of gas you couldn't be more wrong. I average 26mpg and if Im lucky I get 300 miles out of a tank. The distance read out reads 290 when I fill up.

You're buying gas with 5 gallons left in the tank, hardly the manufacturer's fault.

Has anyone tried Google Now voice commands on their phone through the Bluetooth connection in their car?

I find that there's a delay in between when I start talking and when Google finally picks it up thru the Bluetooth. I'll say "Navigate to the airport" and the phone will only grab "Airport."

I haven't found it to be very effective so I just pull over and type it out.

First lets address the worst offender the USB jack.
It only works the first time you plug it in. If you have to unplug thats it your done until you shut off the power to the car and turn it back on.

I don't want to hear what Im doing wrong or how to fix it because I have worked in broadcast television as a tech for twenty years. I know junk when I use it and the audio jack in this car is junk.

What I want to know is, is there a way to get a good old fashion AUX jack plugged into the stock radio?
Ive tried a usb to 1/8" but it didn't work I assume because the stereo can't read the presence of a usb.
I am hoping there is something I can plug into the wiring harness that would replace the usb input with a AUX.

Any help would be great.


The other complaint I have about the car is....God damn could the gas tank be any smaller? Its like a go cart tank. Other than those two things, love it!

I love my car, but have several complaints. On a car so well equipped, why didn't it come with a sat nav. I also find it strange it hasn't got a digital radio. The plastic on the top of the dash is cheap. I can only open the boot from the outside whilst I have the key in my pocket, as the Kizi for the UK market had the internal switch removed. I don't think the fuel tank is that small, it's just that the Kizi is very thirsty. I also think that service interval is pretty awful.

I should point out that I have had many cars over the years, and been able to find fault with all of them.

What's the service interval you are referring to? I don't see how the Kizashi requires anything more than standard maintenance that's normal for cars in this class.

The range (distance from a single tank of fuel) is entirely dependent on type of driving. I typically get around 25 MPG average and so my range is about 300 or so miles. A lot of that is because of city traffic conditions from commuting to DC. However, on long distance drives on freeways and highways, I can get over 30 MPG average and my range is over 400 miles.
As my figures show, range is entirely dependent of type of driving involved. Also, the Kizashi's fuel tank is not small for the vehicle's size or class.

I believe you can only connect your phone via Bluetooth either as a phone or audio streaming device, not both. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Mine works as both. To go from streaming audio to a phone call, all I need to do is place or receive a call.

Your right, both work if set up correctly. What can't be done is running two phones from the system without manually changing the setting. On my wife's car the system will receive calls on either of our phones without the need to do anything.

Yes that's right. Both Bluetooth and phone at the same time, but to change phones on the Bluetooth the pair setting must be changed. Once I got this going right, a year or more into ownership, I never went back to the USB port. But the USB port is a good substitute.

By the way I also have Sirius radio and use the FM transmitter. The latest models have a weak FM transmitter built in and so the power cord does not have a way of extending the FM transmitter. Not good. But the earlier model power cords have an extender capability and you can run a cord to the rear window antenna (built into the window). So this extender sits right atop the antenna wire. I still need to pair the station, so the whole FM1 presets are set to the various empty stations in the area.

I also purchased some adapter stuff to install a 3.5 mm input (to which the Sirius would input directly) but since this FM transmitter stuff works reasonably well I have not installed it (yet). KISS.
