First lets address the worst offender the USB jack.
It only works the first time you plug it in. If you have to unplug thats it your done until you shut off the power to the car and turn it back on.

I don't want to hear what Im doing wrong or how to fix it because I have worked in broadcast television as a tech for twenty years. I know junk when I use it and the audio jack in this car is junk.

What I want to know is, is there a way to get a good old fashion AUX jack plugged into the stock radio?
Ive tried a usb to 1/8" but it didn't work I assume because the stereo can't read the presence of a usb.
I am hoping there is something I can plug into the wiring harness that would replace the usb input with a AUX.

Any help would be great.

The other complaint I have about the car is....God damn could the gas tank be any smaller? Its like a go cart tank. Other than those two things, love it!

Use a FM transmitter.

Never had either problem, but I will admit, I don't think I've ever unplugged the thumb drive from the USB. Just load it up with a crapload of music and plug it in when I get in the car. An aux jack would be a nice addition, but with the USB and Bluetooth it's not really necessary.

I go 400 to 450 miles per tank, and I find most cars are around 400, seems normal to me. Are you refilling too early? It's 16 gallons, when the light comes on there's two gallons left.

What in the world did we do before digital music, thumb drives, iPods and aux jacks! Why would you be unplugging the thumb drive once it's installed, the car is running and you're driving the car? You're supposed to be driving the car, not farting around and being distracted with the techno-gadgets anyway. Ditto on the non-issue with the fuel range of this car's tank, 400+ easy. If you were driving an SX4 then I could understand the bitching. If that's all ya have in the complaints department in this day and age...consider life good.

Sounds like a connectivity issue with the USB port. I know the USB connection is somewhat crumby, but my issues were with the housing, not the actual port.
SamirD once suggested having an extension USB cable and connecting USB devices through that instead of directly using the Kizashi's USB port. I wonder if that will make any difference for you.
I personally don't experience connectivity issues like you describe but I don't really swap devices too much either. The iPod is played via USB and the iPhone is played via Bluetooth. Both work very well for me.

I don't think there's any way to add an auxiliary input to the Kizashi.

A USB to 1/8" adapter won't work because the USB is looking for files and folders rather than an audio signal. Quite annoying considering the USB input doesn't even work with Android devices.

A crude solution would an FM transmitter, as mentioned above. Thankfully my Kizashi has Bluetooth...

What brand of USB are you using and how big is it? It shouldn't matter really, but I'm curious.

So, maybe I was a bit unclear. The USB is how I plug in my iPhone (for some reason I can't get the bluetooth audio working, the phone works fine over the system) The reason I want the aux jack is because I have a sirius radio. I know the car has XM but you get different channels that I enjoy on if you are a sirius subscriber. The sirius radio has an fm transmuter built in but it is too weak to deliver constant quality audio.

As for the milage you get per tank of gas you couldn't be more wrong. I average 26mpg and if Im lucky I get 300 miles out of a tank. The distance read out reads 290 when I fill up.

I believe you can only connect your phone via Bluetooth either as a phone or audio streaming device, not both. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

The range (distance from a single tank of fuel) is entirely dependent on type of driving. I typically get around 25 MPG average and so my range is about 300 or so miles. A lot of that is because of city traffic conditions from commuting to DC. However, on long distance drives on freeways and highways, I can get over 30 MPG average and my range is over 400 miles.
As my figures show, range is entirely dependent of type of driving involved. Also, the Kizashi's fuel tank is not small for the vehicle's size or class.

Mine works as both. To go from streaming audio to a phone call, all I need to do is place or receive a call.
