I record a radio show on minidisk and listen to the recording while driving. Minidisk is too old tech for bluetooth.

I understand your dilemma. Your just going to have to lay down some $$$$ and get a good head unit in that meets your requirements.

Can your MiniDisk record audio to MP3? If it can, then you can still record your shows, transfer them to your phone/USB drive and still be able to listen to your recordings through Bluetooth/USB port respectively.

The Kenwood/RF system has an aux in. I believe it can even do video, but haven't tried it with anything yet.

I am trying to remain patient with the audio connections. First of all I have no interest in using my phone as a radio, what I want to do is plug in a god damn AUX cable and get clear audio. There is no adaptor for USB to AUX. My wife has a 2010 Honda Accord that has....wait for it.... Bluetooth, USB and holy shit.... AUX. All three who would have thought it was possible?

Anyway I have more or less gotten over the lack of an AUX connection and taken and idea I read here and put it to use. I got myself a small stubby usb stick and loaded it up with music, plugged it into the usb connector and bam! Clear audio that I can switch with my steering wheel! I am very impressed and pleased with this feature.

The other day I pulled out my USB to add some more music and the entire USB adaptor came off the dashboard dropping the wire and usb connection down into the bowels of my dashboard. Now I have no usb, no aux and no clear audio. The radio and its connections are by far the poorest/cheapest feature in the car. Now I find myself searching youtube for videos on how to take apart my dashboard.

Other than that no complaints. Love the car and love how it blast through the snow....maybe I'll buy a walkman.

P.S. I got recall letter today for a shifter problem, apparently the car can jump out of park and drive away by its self. Ill be posing pictures of the recall letter later.

Thanks for the info, is the process basically the same for an automatic?

I'm not sure. The service or workshop manuals might outline how to remove those pieces on an automatic. Or you could get the dealer to fix the USB port while you're getting the recall done

Just get one of these. I used it both with bluetooth and aux input. It also has a usb port for charging. It worked great for me until I got a decent head unit.

Just got my personal property tax thing in the mail. The "assessed value" of my car

However I don't plan on selling it, so it's value doesn't bother me considering...

My beef is that once this car becomes known to the younger generations at it's low cost, it might turn into the new civic, luckily there's no huge aftermarket for huge spoilers and body kits.

Dego wrote: As for the mileage you get per tank of gas you couldn't be more wrong. I average 26mpg and if Im lucky I get 300 miles out of a tank. The distance read out reads 290 when I fill up.
Your 26mpg avg. * tank's 16.7 US gallon capacity = 434.2 mile range for you. Of course, if the 26mpg you are stating is from the car's HUD, then you couldn't be more wrong. It's probably more like 24mpg by old school miles driven / gallons replaced method. Even then your still at a 400 mile range. Few if any actually achieve the mpg the HUD reports when compared to the actual calculation. When was the last time you reset the avg mpg indicator?

When I fill up and the fuel level is 'E' on the analog gauge (which I don't let happen too often), range to empty on the HUD is usually @395 after refill under those circumstances. There's also usually @3 gallons left in the tank at that time based upon gallons replaced reported by the pump. This time of year I'm averaging about 28mpg.

 Back to the USB techno gadgetry dilemma.....
