Question on Heated Seats

Hi all,
I am just wondering...for those of you that have heated seats...how are they performing for you? Mine work, but they don't get real warm. In comparison, my wife has a Subaru Forrester and her seats get REALLY warm and we used to have a VW Passat that got nice and warm too. Even my Mazda 3 was pretty good, even though it was just an on/off switch (not Low, Med, High...)
Thanks!
Frank

So what I've found is that the back of the seats don't get warm, just the bottoms. And they do get quite warm.

Yeah, generally it is not the back (at least not on any of the cars I have had)...but mine are not very warm, and it is DAMN cold here (-5 this morning). I wasn't sure if this was typical or if I should have someone look at it. Thanks.

Mine heat up within a few minutes. If I leave them on high then it gets too hot

On mine, both the bottom and the back get too hot if left on the high setting. However, the back does not go up very high and the bottom does not go all the way to the end either. But, it keeps my butt and lower back nice and toasty. Kind of like a heating pad. Feels great when my back is sore!

Hmmm...I wonder if something is wrong with the back on ours. That toasty lower back is what I expect from a heated seat as that's what it does in the Porsche and my dad's Mercedes. But the Kizashi just makes my butt too warm.

I thought only the bottom seat cushion had heating elements?
A new Subaru I was just in did have the heating elements in both the bottom cushion and in the lumbar region of the seat back.

Can't remember if mine heated the lower back or not. Can anyone make sense of the part diagram of the seats?
Unfortunate there is no diagram of the heating element PN 8537157L20

I would imagine the UK spec is the same. I have a 3 stage heater control, and they get very hot quite quickly.I find I have to turn it down after a few minutes, and then off after about 5. Perhaps you have a lardy arse ?
