See http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... 620#p30620 post for a long winded, somewhat offtrack "opinion" as to Kizashi vehicle range. To summarize; when your range goes to 0, your low fuel light will go on and you'll have "at least" 2 gallons left in your tank, probably more...unless of course your car, fuel tank, or related components have been modified or your vehicle is an anomaly, etc.

Still can't get my "Estimated Range to Empty" screen to show me more that "330" after a fill-up.

I can't even get it to show me more than 295 miles range...I am doing 95% city driving.

Surprised me, too. I was on an extended road trip from VT to Chicago, cruising gently.

That's why. The range estimator is based on driving trends. The folks like us who do a lot of city driving won't likely see a range much above 350 miles. Those who often cruise on highways can easily see over 400 miles as an estimated range. However, the read-outs are estimates and aren't representative of reality. You can easily get worse or better and it's up to your driving conditions.
I typically go about 290~315 miles before I fill up and I only do so when the low gas light comes on.
However, last year I took a trip up to Ithaca, NY from Washington, DC. I got around 30 MPG and a range of well over 400 miles before I had to fill up.
Neither the car's MPG estimate nor the range estimate is very accurate. My MPG estimator has been consistently off by 2 MPG since the day I got the car.

Yeah I know...I just don't like it haha

I am doing 8 km back and forth (including like 5-6 stops + 5-6 lights each way) 5 days a week for work driving 30-40 miles an hour and I decided to buy an AWD Kizashi...not the best choice, but I really liked the look, the features and the rarity of the car. It was the best bang for my buck! I will never regret it..I am currently at 33 000 miles. Everybody's knows about WESHOOT2, but are there a lot of members here with more than a 100 000 miles?? I would like to get feedbacks in terms of issues and all that since I would like to keep my Kizashi for at least 10 years (approximately 120 miles for me)

True, whenever I fill up after the low gas light comes on, there's around 3 gallons left in the tank. I have went to work and back home (to get to my desired gas station) with the light on (about 44.5 miles round trip) and the car would still have a bit over 1.5 gallons left in the tank (If tank is 16.6 gallons like the spec sheets say, the car took 14.440). I do about 50% city/highway with brisk accelerations lol

The range guesser seems to have some long term memory to it. When I first got my car, with 11,000 miles on it, the range would be 350 at fill up. Now it's usually 420, but it took five or six tanks for it to inch it's way up there.

I think you're right. It's been inching up for me the last 3 tanks: 435, 445, 450.

...and last night I put 14.241 gallons of Gulf premium in mine after traveling 375.7 miles.
It then showed "330".

WESHOOTZ, I am a tad bit jealous [:)]of you getting to own a pair of wickedly awesome Kizashi's but did like reading about the first one and am enjoying yur words about this new Kizashi. :)

Was looking at some Kizashi's over on carsforsale.om and aw a nice Kizzy 2010 S with a the 6mt for a bit under $10K and with less than 30K on the clock. I wish I had the 2k downpayment to get it but woul have to travel to Oklahoma from Louisiana to buy it. the ony thing I didn't like about it was the color (white exterior. If I would ever e lucky enough to get , I"d paint if a dark green/platinum silver metallic mix Ahh, I can only dream :))

Can't wait to read more about Kizzzy number two!!! :)
