Hey all.
Look, the kizashi sounds pretty nice stock, but obviously it can be better. The old forum post videos are either gone or desisted from YouTube, making it almost impossible to find modified exhaust sounds.
So I was wondering if people could share their setups with audio?
Personally, I'd love to modify the exhaust, starting with taking off the mufflers would be my start since they are already bolted on, but I tried that to no success. So I would personally live to hear a Kiz without them, just to get an idea on what I can go for.
FYI, I despise riced cars, making the kisashi sound deep in tone but making it ever so louder to catch not all, but enough attention would be my future plan, instead of making it sound like a Pringle's can combined with a lawnmower.

I agree 100%, need a little bit more sound with a little bit deeper tone, but guessing at a combination is most likely to miss the mark and each guess is quite expensive. I had the RRM catback with a glasspack added and was very happy with it, but that has since rusted out and I'm back to the boring stock system.

I was thinking the same thing, what do you mean by "tried that to no success"?

I jacked up my car, put the stands on, and I couldn't get to the bolts with my impact driver. I didn't have an extension piece, but I have one now so I could definitely give it another crack.
If it sounds any good when I get to doing it, I'll def let u know and hopefully provide a video.

I have removed the rear mufflers on a few of these. The sound is nice in my opinion, but not for everyone. T
he Kizashi has three mufflers and for Pennsylvania state inspection, mufflers must be in good shape and have at least one. When the rear ones rust out it is quite expensive to replace with original and used is nearly impossible to find that’s any good. I have used a few aftermarket replacements but the size and configuration for the Kizashi makes it kind of tough. The most cost-effective way is to just build pipe replacements for the end section of exhaust. Here is a picture of the last one that I did using used stainless steel exhuast pipe.

Is it possible that you can give a video of the sound please?

I found this video of a modified exhaust
Description reads "just a mid muffler delete and a flap infront of the back mufflers"
My takeaway from this is he's done a resonator delete, but I don't know what he means by 'flap'. If anyone could help with this, itd be appreciated cause my thought on an exhaust flap is like valvetronic or the flaps on a truck exhaust lol
Edit: Now I'm not tripping when I say I hear a turbo blow off coming from the exhaust no? Is this turbocharged too?? Psh psh psh

I guess he's got an exhaust cutout, a valve that just opens the exhaust to the air instead of sending it back through the mufflers. Looked as if the exhaust was exiting near the rear axle.

they used to offer a turbo kit for the kizashi and was only meant for the fwd manual transmission, so since it doesnt say awd on the trunk its very possible yeah. and yeah that was my takeaway too, is an electronic valve that opens and closes the exhaust to make it louder

Ok, so let's say I was to buy exhaust cutouts right
What size would I buy? AKA what is the diameter of the Kizashi's exhaust behind the mufflers?
