i had this set up in civic si,and the fosgate just didn't work for me ! its ok but left alot of subtle lows and and alot of deeper lows that it just cant reproduce..im an old 70's and 80's rock and roll junkie and aerosmith and guns and roses just didnt sound the same !!! so heres what i did !!!
kenwood KAC-8105-D 1000-1500 WATT AMP
kenwood KFC WS12 sub in a sound ordinance sealed box
all from crutchfield as a bass package around 250.00 i think ???
the amp uses new technology as it uses the factory
{sub}speaker wires to turn on !
no signal on wire needed !! as well as the speaker input SAME wires !!
so i ran 8 gauge from battery to sub, used firewall plug and went just to the side of factory wire harness, tucked wires up in the door sill panels {didnt pop one of em loose} just tucked all the way back to trunk. unplugged factory sub and used those wires for kenwood signal and turn on,grounded to top of metal header and presto !!!
i turned head unit punch to zero and set amp from there so as i have some + and - gain to play with depending on the tunes !!! the sub wires change color at the harness connector so watch your right and left polarity !! i used red and black on sub side for right the + and - are marked on sub just watch the connector for color change
n e ways i now have massive tight bass with interior and mirror shaking bass !!! even at low volume !!! sounds perfect with factory speaker too !! complete package now !!!
