Hey guys, first post here. But I've visited periodically in the past and found quite a bit of useful info... figured I could certainly use the help now. :)

I ended up in a fender bender this afternoon with my 2010 Kizashi SE with a Chevy Tahoe. Needless to say, my car suffered *all* of the damage from the collision (both good, and bad I suppose). I attached the picture of the damage with the post, so hopefully it works:

In any case, I've been browsing the 'Nets in search of a straight up factory replacement for the driver-side headlamp. Since the entire casing/unit needs to be replaced, I'd like to do it myself if possible. So far, my Google-fu has been pretty weak, since I've only found sales on E-bay for the replacement units (and for $300, otherwise I'd go for it).

So, if anyone has a suggestion where I can snag a factory-direct replacement headlamp, I'd be much obliged. In the meantime, I'll continue searching online. And tomorrow I'll start getting quotes from shops... but like I said, if I can do it myself, I'd certainly like to :)

www.car-part.com

sort by price lowest to highest, pick up the phone, start calling. Used this site MANY times to buy all kinds of parts. My best find ever was a power steering box, pump, hoses and reservoir out of a 1979 Celica to swap in to my Samurai. Very hard to find and it was a snap on this site.
My rule of thumb for using the site is that the yards I select must have a website and a phone number listed. Never had any problems w/ any of the places I dealt with.

Good Luck

I can't imagine there are many Kizashi in junkyards that don't have the front end completely smashed. Will be interesting to see if car part works for you.

I checked yesterday and found only a handful....salty. The beauty is that you can check often as new inventory will pop in. Also, search for a different part to get more listings...then call the yards to see if they have exactly what you need. Many times they won't list every single part of the car even if they have the part, but they do have the car in inventory. That's exactly how I located the Celica power steering components for my Samurai. I think I searched for a body part then started calling the yards that appeared on the list. Something that old would have been crushed for scrap steel decades ago, but, this place was in Oklahoma and actually had a few entire Celicas (this was about 5 years ago).
