Adding Leather Seats

I got my Kizashi with cloth (just because the deal was too hard to pass up). I am looking at adding Leather (Katzkin or something like it).

Has anyone done this? I'd also love to add heated seats, but curious if I can get the stock switch installed and have it function.

You can get any seats recovered in leather, but the expense of getting anything even close to the OEM leather quality will likely negate the great deal you got on the car.

Katzkin is a good option, (I know someone who did this a while back but it wasn't cheap) or maybe look around at some local upholstery shops who do custom fit covering.

My boy got a subaru wit cloth and he wanted to have leather on it. So he just brought leather seat covers, believe it or not they feel very nice! He also brought a heated seat kit and i installed it for him. Altogether he paid maybe less then $120

WHere did he get the covers? Also, did the heated seat kit go at all with the OEM buttons?

He got the heated kit off ebay.. and i custom fit the switches near the center console. Made 2 holes for both switches and ran the wire threw the carpet.. It was easy.. U can def do it on the Kizashi, the center console is not hard to remove, ive done it a few times. I ran XBOX cables from the console under the driver seat to the back of the radio

Would the leather seat cover interfere with the deployment of side airbags during an accident.
I like to have the leather seat cover (after market), but worry about the airbags.

Why not look around for a wreck and buy the interior? It doesn't seem to take much to write them off - so if you can find a couple of wrecks you should be able to get the full interior. You just need to find wrecks with the seat airbags not deployed.

(I've thought about doing the same thing as there are some wrecks with leather interiors near me.)
