Tire Size Calculator

While I was looking for a new set of tires for Azumi, I stumbled upon this tire size calculator that will analyze the size difference between your old and new tires, and calculate how much faster/slower you will actually be traveling in the new tires. The calculator itself looks like crap and converts millimeters to inches for some reason, but the calculations seemed correct to me.

It seemed to me that there was a lot of approximation/speculation about how much of a speed difference actually occurs when you get tires sized differently than the OEM ones in several threads. Hopefully, this will help with that a bit.

Stupid Java not wanting to work in Firefox like it's supposed to. I couldn't get the applet to load on the link you posted.

I'm so pissed right now. For some reason, the tire applet at miata.net REQUIRES 32-bit Java to be installed, and even after I finally install it, it errors out after I give it permission to try and load.
Thanks for trying anyways Woodie.

Sorry about that, I use it all the time. It complains that "an unsigned application from the following location is asking permission to run" but after I click run, it works just fine. I am running XP though, so I'm not really participating in modern society.

Ditto. I remember finding a better one a while back that also dealt with offsets when sizing up the winter set, but I can't remember which site I was using.

I used this whenever dealing with offsets

That's pretty good. I'm going to have to find the one I was using because it would show not only the tire, but the offset, and it would show the speed variance too.

Found it!

I used this extensively to check the winter tire set offset and diameter difference.
