I love my Kizashi, but like others, I notice there is hesitation off the get-go to accelerate. Not a lot, and for normal driving it's unnoticeable. I also notice that at highway speeds, it accelerates JUST FINE which is much more important to me. I'm more comfortable at high speeds than in torque-related low-end acceleration trials.
That being said, when I read about 0-60 tests, (in the case of CVT not manual transmission) are they usually conducted in manual mode or normal automatic mode?
I really think the hesitation to accelerate is due to the transmission not staying in a low-gear-imitating ratio, and it's not all lack of power from the engine. When I go in to manual from 0 and stay in "1", (virtual "1") the pick-up is quite nice!
by the way, I drive it like a baby......only tested this once or twice...just want to know what kind of power is there in case I need it. Or really want it.
with CVT models, 0-60 tests done in auto or maunal mode?
I have found that playing with the gas pedal and rpm helps. The key is not to hold the pedal down at high rpm. Let go a bit and you'll see the speed climb faster... and keep fluttering the pedal. So, play around a bit with it and see if that works for you.
I don't know if this is just my head, or the ECU registering the driving habit.
Occasionally, drive it hard with the paddle shifters, and somehow back in auto mode, the car seems to react similarly. Can someone verify this LOL???

does that mean it's potentially harmful to manually move through the gears (virtual gears) from 1 upwards?
I can't see why it would be - why put that feature in if it's going to damage the transmission?matt_gold99 wrote:does that mean it's potentially harmful to manually move through the gears (virtual gears) from 1 upwards?
