In the US there is a law called Magnuson-Moss- that requires the manufacturer to prove the aftermarket device CAUSED the breakdown before denying warranty coverage.
That said, they don't have to make it easy, and many people just fold instead of dealing with the hassle.
We've got pretty good consumer laws over here. The odds of you having a fault that could be blamed on an exhaust are slim, but it's a headache you wouldn't want if trying to claim.
My dealer gave me a headache over tinting my windows. After I tinted them the window started making a wierd noise. They fixed it under warranty but were like this is why you shouldnt tint your windows aftermarket blah blah blah when the problem was there was no lubricant around the motor. I dont see how tinting can be blamed:/ I might bite the bullet and ask.
That's funny. The dealer I bought off did the usual thing and tried to flog me paint protection, window tint etc. I declined, but they admitted to me their tinting is done by the local Tint-a-Car outlet.
