Is it the CVT or a regulator setting that causes the lag?

I will question driver skill... she got 9.17 secs 0-60mph in a Kizashi MT! :o
The magazines here have been getting 7.2 secs consistently... I haven't done a run myself, but I will do.

Keep in mind that test was of the Indian-built Maruti version, which may have different gear ratios etc. For those who have not exprienced driving in India ... it's an experience, that's for sure!

The kizashi is a CBU, a Completely Built Unit import from Japan in India. Only thing that has been changed is the suspension setting. The engine, gearbox and all the other mechanical bits are same. However, having drove in India and that part of world a lot, I would blame on fuel quality and road conditions.

I have a manual 6spd and can assure you there is no "lag" at all there. If I disable the traction control I can lay down black stripes from the tire. Automatics never have and never will have the launch capabilites of an manual
trans. If you didnt like this so called lag, why didnt you buy a manual trans?

Bwahahahahahahaha.

1) search "launch control". Look at what cars have it, and what 0-60 times they put down. All of them are automatics.

2) many high power drag cars use automatics because there are many advantages to a torque converter, and it can be easier to build an auto that holds up better than a stick in very high power applications

hi folks I had to jump in here on this lag thing. I think ~tc~ stated, sometime ago that the first cars that came off the production line could have been "slower"?. My SE was built 5/10 and it just seems to get "faster" and has a good bite when you get on it. I drive very "spirited" most of the time, so is it the tires getting worn for better bite? or the computer adjusting? Noting its no rubber burner, that not what the car isn't meant to do. "Warning" to other drivers, of other Makes, do not follow the kizzy in to a corners, it could get ugly. lol and btw gas mileage is to me a good, 28-29 mpg, don't really care about that either. enjoy, be safe.

Tc, you are talking about Lambos and other exotics, I am refering to the more common cars most people buy.

And if you look at PRO-STOCK drag racers EVERYONE of is using a LENCO 5
speed manual trans.

I am sorry either your parents didnt let you get a manual or you cant drive one, but you come across as a little whinney loser who has to rain on everyone elses because your life sucks so bad.

And why are you following and disputing everything I post? I consider it harassment and plan on notifying the moderators as such.

The Kizashi is my first automatic, even my rock crawler has a manual.

If you don't want to be shown up as an idiot, then don't make ridiculous blanket statements like "Automatics never have and never will have the the launch capabilities of a manual". I don't rewrite everything you say, only the stupid stuff - unless everything you say is stupid, which is possible.

Back OT, I am now wondering of there is some programming for "break in" in the computer for 5000 miles, because once I passed that, it's like a whole different car now.
