I recent got 2012 Kizzy Sport AWD and the forum has been great for info on performance and aftermarket. Just wondering if anyone has got 1 of these for their Kizashi?

I can't speak for the Kizashi, but I had the Borla exhaust on my '96 Impala SS and loved it. Great balance of sound while accelerating, but not so loud on the highway

I've never seen one in the flesh (we don't get Borla here) but it certainly looks nicely made. I've also heard good stuff about their systems on other car forums.

Here's a better price on it too : http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BOR-140353/ (I'd be tempted if they'd do the free freight to Australia!)

Looks pretty good. Is it safe to say a catback voids warranty? Ive heard they dont but i cant imagine them being cool with it

Normally, most manufacturers say cat back is okay. But it would pay to check.

BTW Jegs sell it, ship to Australia and they price match......

I just want to share my experience with a Borla cat back exhaust that I had installed on a 2009 Honda Civic Si coupe before I purchased the 2011 Sport SLS I have now. I wanted to get improved low end performance and among other changes I got the exhaust. The Borla rep assured me there would be no "exhaust drone". Wrong, the system once installed was so loud it was difficult to hear the sound system and the drone reverberated within the cabin. I eventually, spent money (adding a 24" resonator and installing a reducer provided by Borla) quieting the sound level thereby defeating it's initial purpose of improving perfromance. Now, granted the Honda does not have the level of sound dampening that the Kizashi has, so it might not be as pronounced, but, I would seriously weigh how important it is to have a quiet cabin for long trips, listening to music and having a conversation vs whatever minimal increase there is in performance.

Drone is one thing that would put me off however i think it really depends on the car. I presume the civic was a 5sp or auto 1.8l? Youd probably be sitting at higher revs when cruising compared to the kozashi. Doing 110-120 on highways i generally sit below 2000rpm and the cars dead silent getting 4.5l/100k. With the right exhaust i dont think droning would be a problem in these cars. Fuel seems to count aswell i use 95-98. 91 and below is noisier and much worse economy for me.

Droning is the one reason I'd go for an "off the shelf" system. Borla must have made some serious mistakes on that Civic system. I'm no fan of loud systems or droning.

Someone must have the Borla system on a Kizashi?

To answer my own question, i spoke to a suzuki performance specialist who offered me a custom headers back told me "any attempt to increase performance will result in an automatic void of warranty without mechanical fault".

That isnt a quote from suzuki but i imagine he knows what hes talking about. Id like to talk to suzuki about it but theyre just too aggresive the moment you mention warranty!
