Hey Guys,
Just got my self a new Kizashi Sports AWD

pretty happy with the car and all, but the engine/exhaust can do with some nicer note. Especially with such an aggressive looking car.
Anywho, the first mod I am looking to do is to get a CAI for it.
But before doing so, I just want to make sure the Kizashi won't through a "check engine light" on me.
and would installing a CAI void the factory warranty?
Regards,
JT

It would be best to ask your dealer about the warranty. I'd suggest they would try and get out of any engine related issues and blame the intake mods. Have you thought about a cat back exhaust?

Thinking about that as well? but will need to find one which I like, I don't want some fart cannon's you see on those Hyundai Excel and Civic's.
Want something with a nice tone, where it is fairly quiet when I am cruising along, but have a nice deep tone when I give it the boot.

I'm from Sydney aswell, my dealers response was "any attempt improve performance or alter the way the engine works will result in a void of warranty." so depends what's more important to you.

I believe they would legally have to prove the mod caused any problem (or, you could have to prove it didn't- in their eyes!), but do you really want those hassles if something goes wrong?

I installed about 2 different intakes on my car. One fork BBP Auto and a custom one I got done at a shop. And both intakes threw me CEL codes. The MAF is very sensitive, if not mounted PERFECTLY then the CEL will come on. Try the RRM intake, I haven't heard any problems about them. Thing is I don't wanna pay $260 for a short ram intake. If u got money like that do ya thing.

I've had 2 different styles of SRI intakes from RRM on mine for over a year. Never had a trouble code come up. As far as warranty, your going here all kinds of answers.
The law in the USA, states the manufacturer would have to prove your mod caused the failure. But in the end your just going to have to deal with whatever the dealer says. Fighting the "man" in that case would end up costing you more money and hassle then it might be worth.
I'm no expert, and this is the first SRI I've had on any car. I also have a cat back. I haven't read anything saying these can cause failure.
Of course like anything you might install at home, if you screw something up in the installation, that has nothing to do with the product.
I really had to make a decision when I was looking into these mods. Do I want an off the shelf car (like I have always driven), or do I want something custom.
I went with the latter

Guess ima have to go with the RRM intake cuz seems like that's the most reliable one out. It's just that price! Crazy high! Lol

Thanks for the info guys, seems like the RRM intake is the way to go.
The issue is that I am located in Australia.........wonder what it works out to be after shipping.

For warranty safety, their cat back exhaust (which is currently on special) might be safer and is the more likely option to give you benefits other than more sound....
PS: It's a pity we all live in different areas of Australia as I'm sure there are a few of us interested in buying some of their gear.
