Just bought a 2011 GTS 6-speed yesterday afternoon.

I'd been wanting to pick up a Kizashi w/ a manual for some time. Ever since reading the reviews on them, I'd been thinking, "that should be my next car."

I set up an AutoTrader alert some months ago, and when this one showed up 10 miles away from my house, I knew this was probably the sweet point in the depreciation/value/condition curve. Furthermore, my old 1991 Lincoln Town Car (behind it) had a bunch of annoying little issues.

This one only has 27K on it, and I got a great deal from a good dealership. I am thrilled.

I'd take first gear to 3,000, shift to third, take it to 3,000, then shift to sixth.

Welcome Tanshanomi! From what state do you hail? I have a 2012 GTS that's just about a twin to yours. Got mine in November with ~23k miles on it (at 30.5k now). Lucky for you it was so close. I had to source mine from Pennsylvania and I live in Virginia.

I may try this, if I skip gears it's usually only 4th to 6th.

I shift at about 2k when putting around town, 3k anywhere else.

Seems like the silver 6mt's are catching up to the black 6mt's! Off topic, but it can be hard to concentrate with that pretty red Mazda 6 ad in the right corner. Must...not...be...tempted...!

Here's a link to an article I wrote about my Kizashi for Hooniverse.
