Nice! I've done the same mod to my other cars. How hard was it to open up the lights? Did you bake them?

Yeap, 250* soak and the lens fell right off. (I've had your DRL disable writeup bookmarked for months - BTW). Pretty easy, but the mess from the melted tar took some cleanup. It's not a difficult process, but it does leave us DIYers with a number of ways to mess up a delicate item.

For what it's worth, the chrome seems to be more of a painted coating than a plating (similar to Alclad?). Don't sandblast it, and don't use too many chemicals on it. I rubbed the chrome off of one of the shrouds .. and had to buy a whole new headlight ($300) just to finish these up. Probably should have just gone ahead and painted the shrouds black as well, but I felt the chrome kept them looking pretty OE, which was important to me on this run.

In the states at the moment, but gonna do this as soon as i get home. Big improvement for the looks without much $$$

Starting to miss the car after 3 weeks without it. :(
