Unless they have changed things for the up coming year the golf R has a very invasive stability and traction control system. Most people that really enjoy driving complain.

Fully defeatable now
The new Golf R is equipped with "ESC Sport" as standard. The system is activated by a two-stage switch on the center console. When the driver presses this switch briefly, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) switches to the "ESC Sport" mode. In very fast driving on a race track, the ESC system has a higher threshold in this mode. When the ESC button is pressed for longer than three seconds, the system is fully deactivated for high-performance track driving, a feature that is available only on the Golf R.

Ah very good to know.

I with my Forester XT had such a feature. It gets very pissed at me on snow.

I am thankful for my inexpensive-to-operate Kizashi.

I've been trying to get my fiancée to go for a kizashi. No luck yet, but her car will probably die sometime soon.

I think it might need a head gasket and I don't know if I want to put in the time required to fix it. (She is driving a 2002 POS sable)

I parked at work today (heavy blizzard; took back roads :drive: ) and noticed I was at exactly 146,000 miles.
Thought that was kinda cool.....

The K-sled turns 4 years old December 23rd. I just installed another set of wiper blades.

Strange, I just pulled the trigger on a Kizashi in Altoona (I'm from CT). 2013 base, 15K miles for $9500.

It was your posts on longevity and abuse that made me do it.

Wow...how can you go wrong. A nearly brand new car for 9500 bucks. AWD? You won't be disappointed. Beat to hell (in my opinion) 6 year old used cars w/ 100k+ on the clock can go for that.

You really can't go wrong. It's a base, so 6MT FWD.
