Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Today I started the Kizashi and backed out of the garage to wash it. After washing the car I got back in and pressed the button to start the car again and the dash turned that nasty orange with a no fob received message. I figured the battery in the fob was weak so I touched the fob to the button and started the car and drove back into the garage. I went into the house and replaced the battery in the fob. I then went back into the garage and walked to rear of the car and pushed the button on the trunk lid and the trunk opened. So now I know the car is receiving the fob's signal. I got back into the car and pushed the button expecting the car to start and got the same nasty orange no fob message. What? The fob was just recognized when I opened the trunk. I tried pushing to button another 3-4 times and received the same nasty orange no fob received message. I sat there for a minute wondering what to do next. Then for the heck of it I tried something I have wondered about. I took the battery out of the fob and touched it to the button to see if it would recognize the fob without the battery in it. It didn't. I then put the battery back into the fob and pushed the button again and the fob was recognized and the car started! I tried it a few more times and now the fob is being recognized!

The car's receiver for the trunk's remote operation, located behind the rear bumper cover, is different from the receiver used to unlock the car, one of which is in the driver's side C-pillar. I'd also imagine the ignition module's 'transceiver' is yet a different circuit both in the car and the FOB. This is a difficult dilemma. Is it the FOB's start circuit transceiver not functioning or the car's? Quite obviously, the battery in the FOB is good since trunk operation is normal, and I'll assume, door lock/unlock functions normally as well. Have you tried your second FOB?

Unfortunately, this may need to be diagnosed by Suzuki Service since they're the ones with the factory equipment to chase such an issue. If I could read the damn manual on this Windows 7 PC, I'd have a look into it because I'm very curious about the diagnosis procedure for something of this car crippling nature.

I have started the car many times this holiday weekend. Trips picking up and dropping off relatives and not another problem. So for now I'm stymied of what the cause of the problem was, but for now it seems to have gone away.

A few years ago I bought a spare Kazashi fob off Ebay just in case something happened to one of my fobs. If this fob dies again I will take the spare fob to a nearby Nissan dealer and see if they can "pair" that fob to my car. The Nissan Altama seems to have a similar fob.
