Guys gave the Kiz a bath, 10k mobile one synthetic oil and tire rotation. The hardest thing is getting a wrench on the oil filter to get it off. Have found that K&N oil filter has a 15/16 nut on the end of the filter and getting a wrench on it is a lot easier than a standard oil filter. Due to the exhust header being in the way (see pics). An synthetic oil change takes me about 10 minutes and cost $30.00 (5 qts and filter).

Scorcher did not help today he was taking a nap.

Unfortunately, the K&N is not as good a filter as the mobil1

Did you do used oil analysis at the 10k interval?

FYI - for all things oil check out www.bobistheoilguy.com

The used oil drum at my local Advanced Discount did the analysis and said the oil still had life. But was glad to see my deposit. Next oil change at 15K will use the moble 1 filter and I will make sure Scorcher is there to supervise. ;)

Oh, you're only going 5000 miles between changes, not 10 ... Gotcha.

I'm kinda dubious about the factory specified 7500 mile interval.

I consider my Kizashi an exoctic , because to have it repaired correctly is going to be a whopper, so I have developed the mindset to change the oil & oil filter EVERY 3000 miles. I just dont want anything to go wrong with it.

Im with you. Whether the oil says 5000 miles, or the book says 7500miles, I'll always change my oil @ 3000.

I questioned the manual claiming that the recommended service was every 7500 miles. So I changed it myself twice before taking it back to the dealer for their "free first service". I was told by the service manager that even if you follow the recommended 7500 miles recommendation, the warranty will still be debated if catastrophic failure is shown due to wear and tear. They advised me to continue with the 3000 mile intervals (mineral oil)/ 5000 miles if synthetic. I set in my ways with the 3000-5000 so i'm not going to change now...
