Re: Sold my Kizzy today

Don't delay on that new Honda; I turn 63 this month. I'm reading quite a few good things about the upcoming Accord. Interesting to see them go turbocharged and dropping normally aspirated engines including the V6. Looks like it will be a 1.5T, 2.0T, and the hybrid. Both of the turbos will be offere...

Re: Sold my Kizzy today

That's a surprisingly good trade in value. I guess the Kizashi's resale value slide has stabilized in some markets. Negotiating for buying a car has been a bit of a sport for me as well. Last time I did was helping a friend buy a 2016 RAV4 that stickered at $28500 for $25500 OTD. He couldn't believ...

Re: Sold my Kizzy today

Yeah, I thought the same. $8500 was a great trade-in. Maybe NiteRider should change professions and become a dealer negotiator agent. I could use his negotiating skills with my next dealing with a car dealer. Kizzy's in this area (Central PA) was going for 8 - 11K retail based on that mileage so I ...

Re: Sold my Kizzy today

I had 66K miles on her, a 2012 GT. I didn't want to let her go but with a family on the way it was more practical to get an SUV. We bought 2 new SUV's to compensate. A loaded 2017 Mazda CX-5 which is actually a pretty fun car to drive and a 2017 Land Rover Discovery which I've nicknamed "The B...

Re: Sold my Kizzy today

"The Disco should be impressive offroad but may not match the reliability of the Mazda." Interesting. The manual transmission in my 85 Ford Ranger was made by Mazda and it froze on me. That experience gave me an impression that Mazda was not as reliable as most Japan manufactures. Part of...

Sold my Kizzy today

I had 66K miles on her, a 2012 GT. I didn't want to let her go but with a family on the way it was more practical to get an SUV. Who ever the next owner is will appreciate the care I put into her. I didn't have to replace one thing on her aside from maintenance items. She owed me nothing but I did m...

Re: Value of these cars

Because there are so few of these cars, in some respects, we control the value of our kizashis. If so many are willing to part with it at such a low rate, it just reinforces the price point for everyone else. Demand more and stick to your guns!

Re: Value of these cars

Well I've been hinging on the idea of trading mine in recently after looking at a plethora of cars. I went to the local Subaru dealership where I was looking to trade it in on a new 5 speed crosstrek or a 2015 legacy 3.6r and they offered me $4100. Nissan offered me $2000 on a 2015 juke nismo rs an...
