Re: Need help (timing chain issues)

Thanks for all the info oldtech and woodie!! I had sent an email to the service manager yesterday morning including what you guys had mentioned. The guy called me yesterday afternoon indicating he was feeling weird about the compression test as it would take some time for the pression to show on the...

Re: Need help (timing chain issues)

Oh I totally agree with your concerns in terms of Canadian Tire. I went there a few times, but I usually don't. I called other places and they could not take my car for another 2-3 weeks. I'll call other places today never know. I was advised that the timing chain is only available in China and woul...

The compression is supposed to be between 100 and 150 psi depending on the vehicle apparently.

Re: Need help (timing chain issues)

So attended the shop....they completed both dry and wet compression test. All tested at around 50 psi therefore the motor is possibly fine. Nothing was flooded with gas and the throttle would not be clogged. The first thing to do in the service manual is to remove the engine to access the timing cha...

Re: Need help (timing chain issues)

Thanks for the quick reply guys! Really appreciated. That's what bugs me...there was no sign of anything the previous day when I drove it. No code or anything when it would not start. I am going to the shop today to check what they have done exactly. I'll print what you guys said and go from there. ...

Need help (timing chain issues)

My 2012 Kizashi Sport AWD (Canadian / Automatic version) with 140 000 km did not want to start this morning. Could not boost it. Towed it to Canadian Tire. Was told by tech. manager that it's probably the timing chain that needs to be replaced (after they did some compression testing). I was advised...

Re: CVT Whine))))))))Fluid change & Stuff

Currently at 147,000 miles (237,000 km) and still on original CVT fluid. Next oil change will be for 15k oil change interval. I'll be the guinea pig. Thanks for your input. That's pretty nice!! Now I really don't know what to do...lol I am thinking about selling it when it will be around 200 000 km...
