Re: Really poor gas mileage

Another reason might be due to your short distance of driving. Everytime you start your car, it takes fuel to simply warm the car up. That's why you see worse fuel economy in winter times. But even in summer times, the startup consumes fuel. So if you drive shorter distance everytime u start the eng...

Re: Really poor gas mileage

I do realize if i drive over 130km/h (80mph), I get worse economy than driving at 100km/h (62.5mph). Both on highways without any lights

Re: Really poor gas mileage

3% efficiency is guaranteed due to the lower energy content in ethanol. I think kizashi is not tuned to be using ethanol-blend fuel. I see a far greater improvement using ethanol-free fuel.

Re: Really poor gas mileage

Premium doesn’t make any difference. The determine factor is whether the fuel has ethanol or not. So 87 octane non-ethanol blend fuel can result in a higher mileage than 91 premium ethanol blend fuel.

Re: Really poor gas mileage

32-34 MPG is insanely good. I get about 28-31 MPG with ethanol free premium gas, depending on whether the AC is on or not. I drive 35-40% highway.

Ethanol free gas location in the States can be found on http://pure-gas.org/
It's a user updated site so it may not be 100% accurate.

Re: Really poor gas mileage

In Canada, all Shell V-power (91 octane) is ethanol free. Chevron 94 (not their 91) is also ethanol free. PetroCanada also has ethanol free but I never use their fuel.

Re: Really poor gas mileage

why don't you guys try ethanol free gasoline.... The MPG you get from using ethanol free fuel definitely offsets the higher cost of the fuel itself.. Just try a tank and you will see.

Re: Really poor gas mileage

FrankoLaMoya, I suggest you try Shell V-power once. Make sure you get the canadian V-power. The American Shell V-power has 10% ethanol. I have a canadian kizashi too and I do notice a big improvement from using ethanol free fuel.
