Re: 2011 Kizashi Service Manual
Thank you very much for the link. :D I've downloaded the file and have printed off the relevant pages required. If only there was an index.....scrolling through 1000 pages is a little time consuming but when you can access that sort of info ( for free ) I'll put up with it. Gone are days of fault fi...

Re: CVT issues/questions
Hi Guys, I get the distinct impression from the dealer that the cvt uses "fuzzy logic" to determine gear change points. It "memorises" the previous drive pattern ( don't know how far back it goes ) and uses that for the next change. To me that "fuzzy logic" algorithm is...

Re: Australian Software Updates
You sound like the missus coref1, lol. Your'e right, don't fix what's not broken. Wise words!!!!. I'll worry when a prob. arises. Five years warranty does give you a sense of relief. Thanks guys for the reality check.

Re: Australian Software Updates
Hi Guys, Just been to dealer to book in for 1K service and asked about the CVT firmware update but was told they "no nuthink" about it. Seemed to check out computer for 5 minutes and said there is nothing to his knowledge. Can anyone give me any details to give to the dealer tomorrow. Rega...

Re: Previous posts on battery life
It can be a car's fault that a battery is draining.....an unexpected faulty component/wiring can cause a constant drain on the system. If the alternator is not putting out 13.5 - 14 volts that wouldn't be helping. With the car totally "switched off" ie not power being drained by interior l...

Re: Grinding
Does this occur when applying brakes or all the time? You may need to remove wheels and look at both side of the disc and inspect both of its pads. The inner one may be worn down to backing plate indicating that the pads are not sliding on the pins. If noise is there all the time and the noise is de...

Re: Really poor gas mileage
Gee guys ( and perhaps girls too ), I'm getting < 8.5 l/100 km (12 km/l x 2.82 to get mpg, for the Yanks ). Admittedly the car has only 1100 K's from new and I'm still running it in. Very short busts of up to 5K rpm and varying speeds from 60 ~110 kph for the majority. That is on 91 RON unleaded. Do...

One thing I must say is I'm glad the Kiz doesn't have stop/start technology. If battery life is sus, stop/start would surely test a standard battery. I can't see how the life of the starter, ring gear, and battery could not be affected by constantly placing strain on these components and how this wo...

Comprehensive Insurance
Just a note to say that the lack of popularity of the Kizashi has some benefits. AAMI gave me a $200 rebate when I swapped over from my 12 yo Nissan Pulsar Q hatch After 5 months of use of the old car ( valued at $6K ) to the $30K value of the new, with 2 year replacement, I was very surprised. When...

Re: Engine's failure to start
Red, of course....they go faster!!!! It's a Touring model, with CVT. Didn't need any of the extra fruit salad on the "upmarket" one. It has all that my wife and I need. Both very happy with it.
