Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

I just checked the fluid. Color looks good. Green and clear. Has some small bubbles though. The dealer said they would not crack open the tranny and that it was definitely heat related. Wish I could know what caused the transmission to just completely deteriorate to crap. The transmission stunk when...

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

New transmission was installed. Drove the car very little today. So far everything seems A-OK. Car drives differently though. A good different. The car feels quite a bit more responsive. Funny thing. This new transmission engages reverse gear in a SPLIT second. Faster than most automatics actually. ...

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

Bootymac Richmond Suzuki gave me that oil change for life thing but they play with the servicing for the Kizashi and it becomes ridiculously expensive. IE: Coolant flush at 50,000km, transmission flush at 50,000km etc etc although the coolant is good for 160k. So I stopped going there after 15,000k....

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

Richmond Suzuki where I bought the car is a joke for service. That's why I have been servicing and dealing with North Shore. They have nnever been pleasant to deal with for warranty repairs but still better than Richmond. Orca bay Suzuki now Tri Cities Mitsu just basically won't deal with Suzuki. An...

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

Well guys. I called North Vancouver Mitsubishi (formerly Suzuki) at 9:10am Saturday morning and described all the vehicles conditions. The service coordinator Collin said that they could only squeeze me in on Wednesday and that if it blows it blows. I begged to be given a courtesy car and he said he...

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

So the transmission arrived yesterday and they can't get it installed till next Wed. Ok all cool but the tranny is now extremely shot. Just an hour ago something let go. Sounds like a sewing machine on crack at all times and sometimes gives me almost no power. Check engine light on now as well. Goin...

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

Thanks for that diagram murcod. I know from owning three cvt equipped vehicles that they do generate a tremendous amount of heat, especially during the summer months when you feel the fans blowing the heat beneath the car. I appreciate these diagrams because it now tells me for sure that coolant cou...

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

I keep reading replies mentioning rad fluid in the transmission. I don't think that radiator fluid can go into the transmission of the Kizashi. I could be very well mistaken but I think that the CVT in the Kizashi has a dedicated transmission cooler with no attachment to the radiator. Again I could ...

Re: CVT Transmission starting to fail

I hope they can find out. The Suzuki tech line suggested this could be a heat related issue and to ensure engine operating temp is fine. The tech also suggested some internal seal may have broken. I just want my car to drive the way it is suppose to. Can't wait. I am driving the car till the new uni...
