Re: CVT failure analysis

Also, it's evident from the video description that the guy in the video is a mechanic tasked to replace the transmission and isn't the actual owner of the vehicle. In the opening part of the first video he states the Rogue is back on the road and his wife is driving it. I don’t disagree with anythi...

Re: CVT failure analysis

I left out the part in my initial post where he determined basically the failure was due to poor design. Stating that there should either be larger balls or more of them. That’s where I started questioning the likelihood of fluid changes preventing this. I watched both videos. Though I did fast forw...

CVT failure analysis

Last night I ran down a YouTube rabbit hole. Came across a 2 part video series from a guy who had a CVT failure on his Nissan Rogue at 186K. In the first video, which doesn’t provide much in terms of conclusions, he disassembles part of the tranny and finds that the belt has come apart. In the secon...

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Inspected my CV boots after having to replace both front axle shafts on my step son’s E46. All four of mine were intact but are starting to do that thing where the rubber starts to feel like sandpaper. I guess 8 years and 137K miles will do that. Fingers crossed they outlast the transmission and tha...

Re: The Kizashi Spotting Thread!

I saw one parked on the shoulder of I-5 north near 44th Ave exit in Lynnwood WA the other day. It was a sad sight. I hope it was simply out of gasoline.

Re: 2010 Kizashi Problem & Suzuki Customer Service

Geez, another one...it's like the Suzuki CVT failure flood-gates have opened up in the last 2 weeks. It does seem to be a hot topic as of late. The cars are aging and so are the CVTs. I will say every day I get in mine to drive the 34 miles too or from work I expect my belt to pop. She bought the c...

Re: Dead battery -locked out

When I replaced my battery I was genius enough to shut the doors while locked while the battery was out. The key inside the fob opened the door for me. Any chance you have a second fob you could try?

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

While I was there and we were trying to see if we could find the heat exchanger return filter housing cover o-ring, filter, and filter gasket, Did you find the o-ring for that housing? I too would like one, or two of them. Last time (and only time) I’ve replaced that cartridge filter I just reused ...

Re: Hit and run

Damn, brother. That sucks bigtime. I feel for ya. Based on what I've seen here, I need to get a dash cam. Yours seems pretty good. Great exposure in low light. Mind if I ask what it is? That camera is a Rexing. I’ve had it for a few years. I also run the same camera in my work truck. It’s expensive...

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Left the house at 3am. Drove the Kizashi 860.7 miles from Puyallup Washington to Klamath Falls Oregon and back, to pick up our new puppy. Got home at 4:45pm. Car did great. Lie-o-meter on the dash said 33.1mpg. Car used 27.87 gallons so that actually comes out to 30.88mpg. Not bad. The dash also sai...
