Re: Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

SAEED_KIZZY: thank you! Besides getting the problem fixed (fingers crossed), our exchange has reminded me of a different era (2000s-2010s), one when I used to be quite active on a number of discussion boards. Well structured conversations, proper exchanges (most time), and getting things done. A for...

Re: Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

I am truly puzzled. Read on. Around lunch today I headed out to a Dr. appointment. I didn't have time to start fiddling with Suzuki's strange video-game-like Indiana-Jones-like hidden levers and buttons combinations, but I did follow all the steps in the rearview mirror inspection procedure uploaded...

Re: Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

I'll keep on trying and will report back.
if the mirror indicator lights turn on to green your connection is good
Are these the turning lights? Or was the mirror anti-dim active green square meant? Or, what are the mirror indicator lights?

Re: Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

On preconditions: "Wiper is in park positions" means that the wipers are 'parked' at hood level, where they normally stay between wiping cycles, right? All other points I cannot see how I can fail on. Also, do you wait until the display writes 'ON', or simply press the start button twice a...

Re: Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

Sadly, no go. I must be misreading something, because no matter what I do (5-4-5, 5-1-5, 5-4-5 or just 5-1-5 for re-initializing) the clearance lights aren't starting. It's like it's not entering the 'programming mode' at all. I've tried it both with the engine off (thus pushing the start button twi...

Re: Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

Thanks...I see now what you mean. I assume that to get to it I grab the mirror by the stem and pull/lift it towards the roof of the car? Ah, and one more thing - should that silicone pad have been replaced with a new one when they replaced the windshield? Or the new windshield contained a new one? I...

I haven't tried yet (crazy day), but will let the community know how it went.

BTW, what silicone pad are you referring to? I had this car for close to 5 years and I'm still learning new things about it :)

Re: Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

THANKS! Wow, that's different (and much more detailed than the procedure I've seen so far - which probably only covered a replaced windshield). Questions: 1. Is it the same sensor? I am really surprised that it's the same sensor for the headlights and wipers. I hadn't expected that, thought they are...

Rain-sensing wipers - erratic behavior

Hello All, I'm wondering if someone experienced the same issue. Current problem description: the wipers are working normally when the handle is pushed upwards (manual one-wipe), pulled towards the driver (wipe&liquid), as well as in low and high continuous wiping speeds. The issue is in the auto...
