When I got mine the mic didn’t work, I had the same head unit. The mic was wasn’t plugged in. Pull your head unit out and check. It’s a very tight fit, I had to plug it back in with just enough room wore my hand to get back there. The wire just isn’t long enough so I think it tends to get yanked out...

Not at all. The speed remains the same and it doesn’t sound like it’s accelerating or decelerating either. It’s really unnoticeable other than the meter.
