CVT whine at 30,000Kms - FIXED!

I drive my 2016 Kizashi mercilessly on freeways and through the hills. Love it. But at 30,000 kilometres it started making a whining noise from the CVT under hard acceleration going up hills. So I changed the CVT oil as per a TSB shared here on the forum. Put about 12 litres through it (approx 11 qu...

Chasing Bearing Noise in Jatco CVT Units

Interesting article from Sonnex on the Jatco JF011Es transmission. Sounds too easy...

Re: Hello from down under.

Nope, I've recently bought a 'new' 2016 model. Seems that Suzuki unloaded large volumes of vehicles on to the Australian dealerships who then were required to register them in order to bump up sales statistics. Two years later they were heavily discounting to get them off the showroom floor. I picke...

Re: Valve Ticking, and getting worse daily

Sorry, Aussie vernacular. Big-end means that part of the connecting rod which attaches to the crankshaft, i.e. the 'big end' of the conrod.

Re: Valve Ticking, and getting worse daily

Don't run the engine with kerosene, the big ends and mains will definitely fail. Not straight away, but you'll loose too much metal, the oil pump won't generate sufficient pressure to lift the crank off the bearings.

Re: Valve Ticking, and getting worse daily

I had a similar problem with a Kia, ex-rental low-mileage but oil was never changed. The oil had become a treacle-like sludge and caused blow-by. Had to remove it mechanically. I also build a lot of Hayabusa engines, if there's oil issues, the first thing to let go is the big-end. My suggestion (for...

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Just changed the oil and oil filter at 24,000km. Been a mechanic for 39 years, this is the first vehicle I've had to buy an oil filter socket for. Not complaining though, love the Kizashi!

Re: How many Aussie Kizashi owners are out there?

Hi, I'm Mark, from Roleystone in the Perth hills, WA. Just bought one of the last 2016 models from a dealership in Perth. Been looking at the Kizashi for a long time, was disappointed when Suzuki stopped production. Got mine at a great price, it's a new car! I do a lot of work on the Suzuki Hayabusa...
