Re: Another Kizashi Bites the Dust

Oh too bad! The Kias are pretty nice, I had a 2011 Optima. The steering will take some getting use to. How does the Kizashi compare to the Optima? I was torn between the Sonata, Optima and Kizashi. Got the Kizashi and have wondered how it compared to the Sonata/Optima. The Optima rides smoother, is...

Another Kizashi Bites the Dust

Well, dammit! I was stopped in town behind a truck who was stopped waiting for someone to leave a parking spot then BAM! - rear-ended. No warning - no squealing tires of someone braking trying to avoid me. The driver of an old Jeep Grand Cherokee was obviously distracted (cell phone, I suspect), hit...

Re: high mileage kizashi?

2010 Blue SLS FWD with 66,000 miles on it. Only repair was replacing a blown subwoofer (under warranty). Only maintenance issue was having to replace the original tires at 24,000 miles. Have had one set Eagle GTs on since - still enough tread left to get me 10-20,000 more miles. All paint intact.

Re: Anyone else have issues with OEM tire tread wear?

I had to replace mine at 23,000 miles. There was some tread left but the car would hydroplane on a drop of water. Although the tread wore fast (in my opinion), it did wear evenly. Mine is a FWD SLS - don't know what version the stock tires were.

Re: Deep Sea Blue Metallic SLS - (less) Beige Interior

I removed the door panels and disassembled the parts from them that I painted. I masked off the speaker grille on the front doors before painting - I thought all black would be too much. After the paint dried, reassembled the panels and to the doors.

Re: Deep Sea Blue Metallic SLS - (less) Beige Interior

The rosewood dash kit I used is self-adhesive - no clips, no disassembly in the car. Just peel and stick (very carefully).

I haven't tinted my windows....yet.

Re: Deep Sea Blue Metallic SLS - (less) Beige Interior

I thought about painting the bottoms of the doors black, except for the speaker grilles, but then I thought it might be too much.

I really like the beige and black look (one reason for buying the Mazda6 I traded in for my Kizashi) so if you have any other ideas, please share.

Re: Deep Sea Blue Metallic SLS - (less) Beige Interior

Krylon Fusion - Flat Black - Walmart - $10 This took the most time taking the four door panels off and apart, masking off the tweeter grills on the front doors, painting. The vents pop out pretty easily. Painted 5 months ago - doesn't scratch off. Lloyd TruBerber Floor Mats - Black - AutoAnything.co...

Deep Sea Blue Metallic SLS - (less) Beige Interior

Since there seems to be relatively few Deep Sea Blue Metallic owners (sounds like mostly because of the beige-overloaded interior), I thought I'd post pics now that I've finished my interior modification - painted vents, door handle and switch areas black, added wood to center console and around ins...

Re: Beige Interior Mod

I went with the Sherwood Dash kit because they print on it what is covered up by the wood (volume, "XM", etc.). This is the site where I found the least expensive: http://www.autoanything.com/dash-kits/75A4150A0A0.aspx I bought the CARiD.com Dask Kit first but didn't like the fit and they ...
